GET TO KNOW MY THERAPIST

Deirdre Eberhart, LCSW

Deirdre has been practicing therapy for twelve years. She obtained her B.A. in Psychology in 2009 and Master of Social Work in 2011 from Binghamton University.

Deirdre has a special interest in helping those who have lived through trauma. With Deirdre's trauma-informed approach to therapy she helps those seeking guidance to increase their coping skills, reduce their stress, and foster resilience.

Deirdre's approach is a gentle one. Each individual receiving therapy from Deirdre will get a tailored approach. The approaches include: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Hypnotherapy, Somatic Approaches informed by Polyvagal Theory, and Nutritional Psychology.

This list of approaches will never be complete. Deirdre is always educating herself to gain more resources in order to best meet the needs of her clients.

WHAT TO EXPECT AT YOUR VISIT

We start therapy with the initial intake session. This session is usually 60-120 minutes (sometimes split into two sessions) and is very structured. We overview your history so that I can give you the best care possible for the rest of the time you are in therapy with me.

I provide Telehealth as well as in-person visits. For Telehealth I utilize a HIPAA compliant video service designed for therapy called "doxy.me" - It works by me sending you a link to your email address or your cellphone (your choice). You click the link and you are in. No downloads are required.

Video chat does require a stable internet connection. If you do not have I am able to do therapy sessions by phone.
